WOC 2016.. Discuss

Post by sjgray » Tue Jul 26, 2016 8:57 pm

Ok, well let's start a new topic for this year's WOC 2016 show.
It'll be exciting to have a full 2 days for fun and socializing!
If you have ideas for presentations let's hear them.

I recall a while back (a few years now) of someone hooking up a VIC-20 to the Interwebs and actually posting tweets to Twitter. I think having a Commodore interact with modern web applications would be a cool display - and might draw interest from the younger crowd. HEY... could we somehow build a Pokemon app for the C64? LOL! (I know I can't... but even to have something along that vein on display...)

I am seriously considering coming to this show.
I don't know if I'll have anything to demo, and can't make any promises that I'll even make it, but I am definitely considering it.

I'm curious to know what people will be demoing. I feel like I've missed a lot in the last 10 years or so. Perhaps people would consider re-demoing older projects?

Greg.

I plan on attending... I wish I had time to work on and complete a project to talk about or present, but just haven't had the time this year with the new child and other things to really dedicate anything to any 8 bit stuff for a while. However I definitely am planning to attend, and will probably have my middle daughter with me as well...

She's just shy of 9 at the moment and is starting to be able to play some of the older C= 8 bit games without complete frustration.. Load RUnner seems to be her favorite so far.

If you could invite any living Commodore personality/former employee/manager/developer/etc to talk at the WOC show who would it be?

Yes, please come!

The tentative list of presenters is here: http://www.tpug.ca/world-of-commodore-16/presentations/

We have videos from most of the past several shows here: https://www.youtube.com/user/TorontoPET ... oup/videos

I still have to edit and upload the talks from 2015...sigh!

Oops! Sorry! I misread and thought you said living or dead. Clearly Jim is no longer with us. :(

Thanks for all the info on this page http://www.tpug.ca/world-of-commodore-16/presentations/. However, does anyone know if the presentations will be in the afternoon or the morning or both? Unfortunately, I cannot attend all day, but I don't want to miss the presentations, especially Bil Herd. Thanks.
