Hello Everyone,
I'm a new user but a longtime C-64 user. I was wondering if the Toronto Pet User's Group have an interest in building a new 65C02 or a 16 bit 65C816S computer? I do and there are examples of speeding up a 65xx system.
I've become interested in microcontrollers and I've been trying to learn as much as I can. I have a Parallax Demo board and their chip can do VGA graphics and it can be interfaced to a 65XX line of processors. I've also seen some CPLD processors make some good graphics.
There is also a kit sold by Apatco on breadboarding a 6502 computer. I've seen Arduino's emulate the SID chip in the Commodore 64. I also have a Microchip processor and programmer. I'm interested in talking to people who might be interested in doing the impossible which is building a better Commodore like computer. I have some leads and I have some research done as where to start.
I was also wondering if your club has any interest in the Minimig which is an Amiga 500 emulated in FPGA. It is being sold by Acube and others. There are videos on the net where it is running a C-64 core.
There is also the Natami (Natural Amiga) project where private people are trying to develop a 68050 Natural Amiga using FPGA and some current hardware.
